Happy Halloween! First, you must watch the video Ellen played this week of Amy and Andy (her staff members) making their way through the Walking Dead Haunted House. I think I have watched this video 10 times and I laugh equally as hard every time! Thank you Ellen for sharing this hysterical video and for teaching us that it’s always time to start a new tradition.

Before I dive into my new Halloween tradition, I must first admit that I am terrified of scary things. I would NEVER go to a haunted house and I CAN’T watch anything scary. So no, I don’t watch horror movies, scary television shows and Halloween kinda scares me. I live and breathe by the Golden Girls, Food Network and Full House, nice happy thoughts before I go to bed.

Now on to the traditions…I am sure everyone has traditions at Halloween: neighborhood parties, family trick-or-treating, costumes, pumpkin carving, all the things you are supposed to do. Well, this year, I am spicing it up!

Every year the adorable kids go darting through the neighborhood to fill their bags full of candy, and I am always ready (I am a total believer in giving good candy)! Over the years, I have noticed the parents waiting at the street and waving from the road, ready to hit the next house.

As I have said before, I am not a parent, but I can only imagine that Halloween is somewhat of a long night, so why not a mid-trick-or-treat surprise for them! Ah ha! The Kings are giving out Jell-O shots to the parents. Fire pit at the end of the driveway, Chaplin Bear in costume and tricks for the kids and treats for the parents!

 Everyday is a new day, what’s going to be your new tradition?

Vixen Vodka Jell-O Shots!
1 c boiling water
1 c Vixen Vodka (These are the real deal. If you want a little lighter on the vodka, do equal parts cold water to vodka until you are at 1c)
1 package of your favorite Jell-O

Boil water, add to packet of Jell-O, stir for a few minutes, add Vixen Vodka. Pour into Jell-O shot cups (you can get at the grocery store). I like to do everything in an oversized measuring cup so I can pour easily into the cups, lined on a baking sheet. Enjoy…responsibly!
